Pixel Design Challenge 10/2020
The Challenge: "The 2020 Election is approaching as designers we empower voters and provide critical information through our work! Our challenge this month is to submit a non-partisan 11x17 poster to Get Out the Vote for Election Day (Tuesday, November 3, 2020)."
Drawing digitally using Illustrator
Mainly using pen tool, limited use of shapes.
Project 1:
Illustration & Color Variations
The task: Create an original 1-point or 2-point perspective using Illustrator and then apply four different color variations.
Type Self Portrait
Using only Shelly Script, can not use shapes.
Project 2: Typeface Poster
Task: Pick a typeface to create a poster that communicates the essential characteristics of letter forms unique to that typeface.
Image Cut Outs
Using different tools in Photoshop to edit images and layout in Illustrator.
Filters, Adjustment Layers, and Blending Modes
Using common Photoshop tools.
The Walnut and the Zipper
Using the Transform Tool, Liquify, and basic photo composition tricks to make the viewer's mind believe.
Project 3: Zine - Personal Identity
Task: Create an 8-page zine about historical or familial experiences, political views, a topic that you’re passionate about, or something that inspires you.
Linked Photoshop Assets/Images
Navigate the file system PSD vs PSBs and recolor the mock up, fill out the text to your liking, and update the font choice.
Project 4: Event Poster
Task: Create a poster for an event at a museum, performing arts or other appropriate venue featuring to work of a leader in the arts or sciences.
